Traralgon Farmers Market

Do you want to become a vendor?

Thank you for your interest in the Traralgon Farmers Market (TFM). The market is an activity of the Traralgon Lions Club Inc. and is registered with the Victorian Department of Justice as a fundraiser under the Fundraising Appeals Act 1998.

The purpose of the market is simply to put seasonal produce, local producers and artisan food makers in the spotlight; accessible and affordable to the Latrobe City community. We are determined that this will be an authentic farmers’ market, allowing only genuine vendors with no re-sellers (see below for qualifications).

Currently we are seeking accreditation from the Victorian Farmers’ Market Association so we can guarantee the public that we are an authentic farmers market. You will need to hold current Temporary Food Premises Registration (if applicable) from your local Council/Shire or the Department of Primary Industries to participate, and preference will be given to applicants who are accredited by the VFMA. For more information go to www.vicfarmersmarkets.org.au

The market is held in the iconic Kay Street Gardens, Kay Street Traralgon, between Church and Breed Streets, approximately 150m from the CBD. The layout allows for the stallholder to park adjacent to their stall location with plenty of shade during the warmer months. Power services are available on site and other amenities such as water are available close by.

TFM is supported by The Latrobe City Council and the Traralgon Chamber of Commerce. Publicity is generated via the local Radio Stations, community adverts on the local TV Stations and placement of adverts in local newspapers.

TFM wishes to set a high standard of environmental awareness. Stallholders are responsible for their own rubbish, recycle and compostable removal. TFM is moving towards being plastic bag free so stallholders will not be permitted to supply new plastic (or bio-degradable) bags to the public.

Stall rates are currently set at $55.00 (including GST) per market for a standard 4.2x3 metre site. Stallholders requiring power will be charged an extra $5.00. These fees will be reviewed annually on or about the 1st of September each year to ensure advertising and running costs are adequately provided for.

We look forward to receiving your epression of interest which will be considered by the TFM committee of management for your involvement in the Traralgon Farmers Market.
